The COCKPIT™ solution consists
of at least three components working
together to deliver applications to
the user’s desktop. These components
are the COCKPIT™ Server, the Terminal
Server with COCKPIT™ Agent, and
the COCKPIT™ Client.
In small implementations
(up to 30 users) and depending on the
installed applications, a single server
may be sufficient. This server can be
configured as a terminal server and
installed with two components: COCKPIT™
Server and COCKPIT™ Agent.
System requirements
for each component are listed below
for:
· COCKPIT™
Server
· COCKPIT™
Agent and Satellites
· COCKPIT™
Client
Note:
the COCKPIT™ Client is the component
installed onto user workstations.
COCKPIT™ also includes solutions
for thin clients and other devices
that cannot install the full client.
This section describes
the hardware and software components
that you will need to install the COCKPIT™
system.
Note: In
small configurations of less than 30
users and test sites, a single server
can host both the COCKPIT™ Server
and the COCKPIT™ Agent.
Jetro
COCKPIT™ Server
Hardware
· 150 MB of disk space
Note: The
COCKPIT™ installation consumes
less than 80 MB of disk space but additional
space is required for log files.
· 256 MB of RAM
· The installation directory
must be located on an NTFS partition.
Software
· Windows® Server 2003
or Windows® 2000 Server
with the
following components:
· Message Queuing
· Windows .NET Framework 1.1
or above.
· ASP.NET
· Internet Information Server
(IIS) installed and enabled
Networking
· Active Directory Configuration
Active Directory Service is required.
The Installation default is to locate
the name and the type of the domain
to which the COCKPIT™ Server is
connected. It is best to logon to the
domain and not to the local server.
Make sure to configure the correct DNS
server(s).
Note: test
your settings by pinging to the Domain
name (flat name and DNS name). The results
should be one of your domain controllers.
· Jetro COCKPIT™
services user account.
It is recommended to create a new user
account to use during this installation
and that the new username be a member
of the “Domain Admins” built-in
group. This will ensure that the account
will grant privileges in the directory
service and on the installed server
at the same time.
