Products FAQ

Plug into Jetro CockpIT™ and the benefits of server-based computing to streamline your enterprise computing, slash costs, control hardware and software resources, bolster security, enable remote access, and guarantee business continuity.

What is the Jetro CockpIT™ system?

Jetro Platforms CockpIT™ software system is a server-based computing (SBC) management and delivery platform based on Microsoft® Terminal Server. The system includes tools for server farm management, load balancing, application and content delivery based on Microsoft® RDP® protocol, real-time activity monitoring, and a usage reports generator.

What is the Jetro CockpIT CMP™ add-on?

CockpIT CMP ™ is a software add-on for enterprises that have server farms that employ server-based computing servers in addition to classic client/server architecture. CockpIT CMP ™can deliver applications in both Microsoft®'s RDP or Citrix®'s ICA protocol and includes tools to manage the server farm, load balance servers, monitor server activity in real-time, and generate usage reports. Both the management console and the client software are browser-based. CockpIT CMP ™allows enterprises to extend their server-based computing capabilities and reduce total cost of ownership without affecting network performance or stability.

What is INA® Technology?

Jetro Platforms Integrated Network Architecture, INA®, is an innovative architecture which includes server-based computing server farm management tools integrated with advanced directory services and remote PC management. Click here for full description of the technology.

What are the main benefits compared to other solutions?

The CockpIT™ system is stable, reliable and scalable yet simple and intuitive to manage and use. Jetro's technology operates in server farms that employ server-based computing servers in addition to classic client/server architecture. This allows enterprises to maximize the benefits of server-based computing and minimize the cost of implementation. The Jetro Platforms client plug is significantly smaller than other's ; Our client software is about 500 KB, this allows fast deployment even over dial up connection.

Where can I buy the Jetro CockpIT™ system?

Jetro CockpIT™ is sold exclusively through Jetro Platforms authorized resellers. To locate a reseller near you please click here

How can I become a Jetro Platforms reseller?

Please refer to the partners section on our web site.

What is the usage policy and cost of a Jetro CockpIT™?

CockpIT™ licensing is based on the number of concurrent users on a system. The CockpIT™ licensing model doesn't contradict or change Microsoft® Terminal Server's licensing model. For more information about Microsoft®'s Terminal Server licensing model please refer to: Terminal Server Licensing Model

What is the usage policy and cost of Jetro CockpIT CMP ™?

CockpIT CMP ™ licensing is based on the number of concurrent users on the system. CockpIT CMP ™ is sold only to customers who already have Citrix® license. The number of CockpIT CMP ™ licenses each customer can buy is limited to the number of Citrix® licenses he owns. To allow more users to access server-based computing servers, buy additional CockpIT™concurrent user licenses.

Who provides support for Jetro products?

Jetro resellers provide the fundamental support for Jetro's products. Every potential reseller has to go through our training program and sign our service statute before receiving authorization to sell Jetro Platforms products. This is how we make sure that our resellers have the expertise to support our systems. When there are issues the reseller can not handle, Jetro Platforms supports the reseller and ultimately the end user.

When should I use ICA® and when should I use RDP®?

The question is relevant only when you purchased CockpIT™ and CockpIT CMP ™ together. Consider the following when deciding which product is right for you:
  • How many ICA® licenses do you own? Keep in mind that the ICA® licensing scheme is based on concurrent users.

  • How many RDP® licenses do you own? Note that RDP® is licensed by device, not by concurrent user.
  • Do you have applications that operate better on one of the protocols than on the other?
  • Do you have users that use one protocol more than the other? Keep in mind that the same application can be delivered using each or both protocols. Keep in mind that a user can have some applications delivered in one protocol and some in the other protocol.

Can I implement Jetro CockpIT™ in my organization's intranet?

Yes. Jetro CockpIT™ is portal ready.

Do I have to use an Internet browser to launch an application?

No. Jetro's DirectLINK ™ technology enables you to create shortcuts to remote applications on the user desktop or in the local Windows Start menu.

We use NAT - some users see the server in one IP while others see a different one. Does Jetro CockpIT™ support both networks at the same time?

The Jetro CockpIT™ system fully supports different IP addresses or server names. Using a NAT does not reduce the system's capability nor does it lower system performance.
