JKB00342 Using Custom Icons with Published Applications

General
By default, the CockpIT application publisher automatically extracts icons from the EXE or DLL file. This article explains how to deploy an alternative custom icon for your application.

Instructions

  1. Convert your ICO file to the JPEG format with your graphic editing software.
  2. Rename the JPEG file with the "tmp" extension rather than "jpg".
  3. Rename the ICO file with the extension "tmp.ico"
  4. Copy both of these files (tmp and tmp.ico) to the following folder on the cockpit Server: "\CockpIT Server\Site\Icon".
  5. Publish the application via the CockpIT administration screen. In the "Icon" text box, fill in the name of your icon with the "tmp" extension. For example, "myicon.tmp", as illustrated in the example below.
