JKB00339 Adding CockpIT to Your Web Site

 

General

The CockpIT installation automatically creates a CockpIT web site on the CockpIT server. The default location of the web site is http://name of your server/cockpit/. This document gives instructions about moving the CockpIT web site to a new location.

Instructions

 

  1. Open the Internet Services Manager by pressing Start -> Programs -> Administrative Tools -> Internet Services Manager.

  2. Click on the “+” where it says “[computer name] (Local Computer)
  3. If you need to create the destination web site, then
    1. Click on Action ->New ->Web Site
    2. Follow the wizard to create the new web site
  4. Create a new virtual directory on the destination web.
    1. Right click on the web site
    2. Select New –> Virtual Directory
    3. For the alias of the virtual directory, enter "CockpIT".
    4. For the directory (local path), enter “*Jetro Platforms\CockpIT Server\Site”.
      *Note: The directory must include the full path to Jetro Platforms, i.e. “c:\Program Files\Jetro Platforms”.
    5. Allow the following:
      1. Read
      2. Run scripts (such as ASP)


  5. In the properties of the new "CockpIT" Virtual-directory, set the following:
    1. In the "Virtual Directory" tab, set the application protection to “High (Isolated)”.

    2. In the "documents" tab, move "Default.asp" to the top of list and remove "Default.aspx" from the list.
    3. Click “OK”

     


  6. Follow the steps above to create another virtual directory.
    1. For the alias of the virtual directory, enter "CockpITClientSetup".
    2. For the directory (local path), enter “*Jetro Platforms\CockpIT Server\Site\User\Setup”.
      *Note: The directory must include the full path to Jetro Platforms, i.e. “c:\Program Files\Jetro Platforms”.
    3. Allow the following:
      1. Read
      2. Run scripts (such as ASP)
  7. In the properties of "CockpITClientSetup", set the following:
    1. In "Virtual Directory” tab, set the application protection to “High (Isolated)”.
    2. Set “Execute Permissions” to scripts only.
    3. In "documents" tab move "Default.asp" up to the top of list and remove all other documents.
