General:
Understating internal system behavior is
crucial in order to support and maintain
CockpIT.
CockpIT can be configured to send internal
events to a utility developed by Sysinternals
called “Debugview.” Debugview
displays and logs these events in a text
file.
For more information about the Debugview,
refer to the following link: http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/freeware/debugview.shtml
The purpose of this document is to describe
how to deliver internal system events to
Debug view and how to properly use it.
Methods:
1. Point your browser to http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/freeware/debugview.shtml
and download Debugview.
2. Install Debugview on the CockpIT Server.
3. Open the Regedit and set the following
parameter value:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Jetro\JDS\JDSLogFlag
= 1
4. Restart the JDS service.
5. Open the Debugview.
6. Click on the Options menu and select
'Clock Time'. Debugview
will show the event using hours, minutes
and seconds.
7. Click on the Edit menu and select 'History
Depth'. Change the value to 100.
Debugview will only display the last 100
events events.
8. Click on the File menu and choose 'Log
to file'.
9. Choose the maximum size of the log file,
file name and path and click append. Make
sure that the log to file is checked after
each program restart.
10. Compress the log files in ZIP or RAR
formats before sending them to the Jetro
Platforms support team.
