Symptoms:
A new application has just been defined
in the CockpIT management site and the user
cannot see its icon on the CockpIT user
site.
Possible Causes:
· The application is part of an
application group that this user does not
have permission to access
· Permission to use the application
was given to a new group or the user has
just been added to a group with permission
to access the application
· The user has not synchronized local
DirectLINKs with the CockpIT Server
· The user did not refresh the CockpIT
user site or does not know where to locate
the icon
Possible Resolutions:
· Ask the user to press F5 or click
on the refresh button.
Note: The CockpIT user site should refresh
automatically when user clicks on group
or application icon.
· Go to the Users Center page in
the CockpIT Administrator Site. Search for
this username and click on it. See if the
application is listed in the "Effective
User Rights" report. For more information
about searching user rights, see “Viewing
Users and Effective User Rights” in
Chapter 4 of the User Manual.
· If the user does not have rights
to use this application, check the security
policy for the application. Check if this
application is part of a group to which
the user has not been given access. For
more information about application groups,
see the Application Groups section in Chapter
4 of the User Manual.
· If there was a change in the directory
service, wait for the refresh interval or

Icon on in the system tray and select Synchronize.
· User should check his CockpIT
