  • Jetro Takes Home Prestigious "Best Computing 2008" Award

  • Jetro receives prize for successful implementation of its secure web browsing solution with Israel's Electric Company

Tel Aviv, Israel, May, 2009 - - Jetro Platforms, a leading vendor of server-based application delivery and virtualization software solutions today announced that it has won the prestigious Best Computing 2008 Award at the C3 SummIT held today in Airport City, Israel. Jetro received the award for a successful implementation project of its Secure Web Browsing solution, the COCKPIT2i with Israel's Electric Company (IEC). The project implementation was lead by Jetro's exclusive Israeli re-seller ONE1. The three companies won a prize under the category of Control & Monitor Infrastructure / IT Security.

The Best Computing 2008 Award is given to projects rather than for individual products. Only end customers can apply for the award program thus prizes are only handed to solutions that have been successfully implemented and field proven. Over 150 companies applied for the Award this year competing in 9 different categories. The 18 winners, two in each category, were announced earlier today.

Jetro COCKPIT2i is an advanced Secure Web Browsing solution. This first of its kind system enables browsing the Internet from a DMZ that resides outside the corporate network. Instead of regular HTML-based web browsing, COCKPIT2i streams web pages as video bitmaps so that content that end users view does not contain any HTML, JavaScript, JPEG, FLASH or any other type of Internet content. Therefore the solution makes web browsing 100% resilient against both know and unknown threats.

“We are proud to take part in the successful implementation process on COCKPIT2i at Israel's Electric Company,“ said Yahav Tsur, Head of Jetro Activity at ONE1. “The project included installing the solution onto thousands of stations. This was accomplished without any disturbance to the ongoing daily activity of the employees, and without changing their familiar working enviornment. We wish to thank the Review Committee for selecting us, IEC and Jetro as winners of the IT Award for 2008,“ Tsur concluded.

“This award that we have won together with our partner ONE1, is another important mile stone and is a vote of confidence in the advanced solutions that we develop,“ said Giora Shaked, Jetro's CEO. “We wish to thank IEC's IT managers for selecting us and submitting our joint project to the Awards committee. Both the project and the COCKPIT2i solution are innovative and unique and will help an important national utility to successfully cope with outside threats,“ Shaked concluded.
